Bees Alive! is migrating - this is the new page... Photos of Insects, Including Bees, Taken in Asia and BeyondThis is a place for photos of insects of the flying variety, including bees in Asia and beyond. There is a separate and growing page dealing with Chinese honey and related issues, as well as a flower image gallery. So far, the photos in China, California and Canada are ones that I have taken, and I've had a few sent from the UK and other parts of the US, but I'd love to hear from you if you are living or travelling in Asia and happen to get some good shots! Of course, pics taken anywhere are highly welcome.Canada

Latest update (July 3, 2011): I have spent the last two months in Haikou, Hainan province in China. Hainan is a tropical island off the south coast of China. As with any tropical climate, there is a wide range of exotic plant life. Many things are blooming. I have only recently spotted a few bees just outside my window, high up in the palm trees. I have seen a lot more action, however, from butterflies, moths, mosquitoes, and a number of other flying friends.
